BCAAs (Branched-chain amino acids) are branched-chain amino acids that, as the name suggests, are characterized by a branched side chain. BCAAs contain amino acids such as L-leucine, L-isoleucine and L-valine. These are exogenous compounds that must be supplied to the body from outside, along with the daily menu or in the form of dietary supplements, because the body is not able to synthesize them on its own.
